A loving couple, plunged into despair, emotional breakdown and separation, face life without their four-year-old son who was killed in a freak accident. As they regain moments of composure, their life ahead seems empty and worthless. They come together in one vision and one goal: Joint suicide. It’s the only thing that emerges as real and of any hope for them; the possibility of being with their son again is the only light at the end of a seemingly endless empty tunnel. It seems there’s nothing and no one in this world that can halt their plans.

‘In late March of this year I read about the Produced By Challenge in LA. I decided I’d like to enter a short film. Problem was, I didn’t have one to send in. I had a draft. After emails and phone calls, and some quick readings/rewrites of the script, the initial cast and crew of ‘heroes’ were assembled for Dead Hearts.
We began rehearsals.
2 weeks later we shot the film then began the edit. 2 weeks after that we shot some more footage then
began the score, the grading and the sound edit.
1 week on from that, after some monumental efforts from the team, we entered the competition with our creation.

I guess it’s fair to say I was inspired, and then rather busy in the best possible way. I had heaps of help and assistance from the people involved. In return, all I can say is, Thank you. 6 weeks on and we made it.’
